D2 Airfield Protect WP 3000

D2 Airfield Protect WP 3000 is a 2-component, water-emulsified, colored epoxy resin sealer for use on thermoset pavements of type D2 in accordance with the construction guidelines for air traffic facilities (BFR 9021) The colored sealer ensures a uniform color tone and enables adaptation to different concrete and asphalt colors. The product contains no free bisphenol A and no alkylphenols.

The product is pleasant and environmentally friendly to use. It is easy to apply with a roller or a suitable airless sprayer and is characterized by its high opacity. Curing takes place by drying and chemical cross-linking to form a robust film with very good adhesion.

D2 Airfield Protect WP 3000 improves the integration of quartz sands and other scattering materials into the surface structure and thus increases the mechanical load-bearing capacity of the systems. The scattering sands for scattering D2 Airfield Protect EP 2000 must be dry, otherwise they must be dried with suitable aids. The sealant produces a tough, abrasion-resistant film that is highly resistant to mechanical stresses.

The product shows good chemical resistance to aqueous solutions, diluted acids and alkalis as well as to motor oil, heating oil, kerosene and formate-based de-icing agents. However, prolonged exposure to individual chemicals may result in superficial staining.
